Having always been an admirer of both contemporary and classical sculpture that is the path Cookie chose to express her art.  While she has made a few wheel thrown bowls and platters, she always returned to figurative work.

The "story people" were born.    People often ask where I get my ideas, the answer is, everywhere!  Every day people or events catch my attention and become an image and a story.  Nothing stays the same, everyday is an adventure, life is a kaleidoscope of happenings and I take joy in tell telling these stories through my art.

Often I use symbolic enhancements on my figures.  All the African or ethnic figures are researched and any symbols that are used are unique to that specific image.
